Jimi Hendrix performing at the Saville Theatre, London, 1967.

"In 1967 Jimi performed at the Saville Theatre (which was owned by Brian Epstein the Beatles manager) Jimi knew that the Beatles would be in the audience and was determined to blow them away. He had obtained a copy of the Sgt. Pepper's album, which had only been out for two days. I had gone up to the dressing room and saw Jimi huddled around a tiny Phillips portable record player rehearsing the band 5 minutes before the show. They ran downstairs and jumped onstage and proceeded to demolish the audience, which included Paul Mc Cartney and George Harrison who reacted with mouths open in disbelief." ~ Eddie Kramer
